Surrey Surreybloke Posted November 21, 2023 Surrey Share Posted November 21, 2023 They say "if it flies it then Farnborough has had some involvement with it" and has done for over a century. Farnborough is where I have lived and worked for many years and the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) based at the airfield site had involvement with the Ministry of Defence during the World Wars and later, the Cold War. After many years of service, they deemed it unnecessary to continue their relationship and closed the doors. There are still museums and many other remnants of Farnborough's glorious connection with flight and is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, especially if you are lucky enough to visit during the Air Show week.
